The Enterprise Adviser Network

The Careers and Enterprise Company in partnership with the LLEP works to create powerful, lasting connections between local businesses and the schools and colleges in their area through the Enterprise Adviser Network.

Enterprise Advisers are volunteers drawn from businesses who will work directly with the school’s leadership team to develop effective employer engagement plans to support schools in their careers advice and careers planning for young people. They will work with other local businesses to equip young people with the skills they need.

Each Enterprise Adviser will be allocated one school or college and will be supported by a full time Enterprise Coordinator. The LLEP Enterprise Adviser Network has created a coalition of local organisations working collaboratively to ensure that Enterprise Advisers can help schools and colleges navigate what is often a challenging environment.

Individuals working at senior level or above are able to become an Enterprise Adviser, if you would like more information on becoming an Enterprise Adviser please contact the EAN team by emailing ean@llep.org.uk

Building on the development of the LLEP Enterprise Adviser network we are one of 20 ‘Careers Hubs’ around England to help transform careers education for young people in the city and the county.

The LLEP Careers Hub will have access to support which will help secondary schools, SEND Schools and colleges meet the eight Gatsby Benchmarks for Good Careers Guidance, working towards improved careers outcomes for young people. Achieving these benchmarks are now a mandatory requirement for schools.

These benchmarks ensure that every young person in Leicester and Leicestershire over will be engaged with more employer encounters and gain a greater understanding of the world of work. The benchmarks also offer individualised information, advice and guidance around a range of post 16 education offers, from sixth form to university and apprenticeships, enabling young people to make informed choices about their future.
