The information below demonstrates attainment levels for NVQ2 and NVQ4 ands above.

NVQ2 & Above

In 2016 74.2% of the working age population of England had an NVQ2 or above. In the LLEP area the figure was 72.2%.

The picture in the City and County is very different.

In the City 58.2% of the working age has an NVQ2 or above. This is 16 percentage points below the national average.

In the County 79.9% of the working age population have a NVQ2 or above.

All the district areas contained in the County have above average attainment levels.

Over the period 2011 to 2016 there has been positive growth in all the areas identified except Leicester.

The area with the highest growth over this period was Charnwood.

In 2016 37.9% of the working age population of England had an NVQ2 or above. In the LLEP area the figure was 31.6%.

The picture in the City and County is very different.

In the City 24.8% of the working age population has an NVQ2 or above. This is 13.1 percentage points below the national average.

In the County 35.2% of the working age population have a NVQ2 or above.

Both Leicester and Melton have seen negative growth over the period 2011 – 16 in the numbers with an NVQ4 and above.

The area with the highest growth was North West Leicestershire.
