If you run a local business, or are looking to invest in Leicester and Leicestershire, it’s well worth getting involved in MIPIM 2019.
In 2018, the Midlands UK delegation attended £5.7 billion worth of face-to-face meetings with potential investors and partners at MIPIM – an increase of 104% on the previous year. MIPIM takes place in Cannes, France once again in March 2019, and Team Leicester will once again be strongly represented. Find out more about becoming a Team Leicester partner at MIPIM.
MIPIM provides an opportunity for the region’s public and private sector leaders to showcase their most important regeneration and development schemes to more than 26,000 delegates from 100 different countries. Attendees include investors, financial institutions, developers, the property industry and the media.
This year, senior private and public sector leaders from across the region took part in nearly 1,000 meetings with international investors, asset managers and venture capitalists throughout the event in March, up from 850 meetings in 2017. The value of the projects discussed at the meetings more than doubled from the previous year (£2.8 billion). Delegates were able to present even more investment and partnership opportunities from the Midlands.
Rob McGuinn is chair of Team Leicester:
“Team Leicester will be attending MIPIM for the third time, and I’m honoured to chair this incredibly talented team of businesses, decision-makers and local innovators.
Our message and strategy could not be clearer: Leicester is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, and our local economy is thriving.
Our theme for investment in our region this year is Space for Growth. ‘Space for Growth’ refers not only to our exciting opportunities for local investment in space technologies, but also in sectors across Leicester and Leicestershire, and at our two Enterprise Zones.”
MIPIM 2019 will once again bring together organisations from around the Midlands to showcase the major investment opportunities the region as a whole has to offer.
