From July 4th, the 2-metre rule will be dropped in favour of a “1-metre-plus” approach. This will allow pubs, restaurants, hair salons, hotels and campsites to re-open.
“1-metre-plus” refers to the adoption of safety measures in conjunction with relaxing social distancing. These include the wearing of face coverings whilst in close proximity to others and the installation of perspex panels at many businesses.
Businesses such as hotels and campsites will be required tokeep a record of customers’ names and contact details, so that, in the unfortunate event of a localised covid-19 outbreak, all those potentially affected can be traced.
For businesses unsure about how to go ahead with re-opening, or worried about recovery following locdown, the Business Gatway and partners are running a series of recovery-focused webinars. pleasae go to our events pages to find out more, and to sign up to take part. Topics covered include preparing staff for their return to work, help with making ‘covid-secure’ installations, and advice and guidance on the different types of funding that may be available.
