Coronavirus causes cancellation of MIPIM 2020

MIPIM 2020 will not go ahead as planned due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. The business event, which usually takes place in March but had been initially postponed until June, has been scrapped for 2020 due to restrictions on travel and public assembley.

MIPIM, a trade show in Cannes

The initial hope had been that the trade fair would go ahead on 2-5 June 2020. However ongoing public health concerns have forced a rethink, with those dates impossible to plan for at the current time. The plan is now to hold MIPIM once again at its traditional venue in Cannes on 16-19 March 2021.

For Team Leicester – the group that heads to France each year to extol the benfits of investing in Leicester and Leicestershire to a global audience – the news will be disappointing but understandable. The most important thing in these uncerain times is the health of the wider population and all our combined efforts to restrict social contact so as to ‘flatten the curve’ of infection and beat the virus.
