It is critically important that those leaving education are well equipped for the world of work, and that our local training provision meets the needs of local employers, both now and in the future.

We have formed close links with all local colleges and they are keen to work with businesses to meet their needs in skills and training. Most colleges provide apprenticeships and training for employers, so don’t hesitate to contact them. We also work very closely with our three outstanding universities to ensure that the supply of graduates meets the needs of local businesses.

Each university has its own Student and Careers Service directly engaging with employers to offer graduate internships, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), or to work on specific projects to assist companies to be more innovative and productive.  For young people and adults, there is also a broad range of learning options.
