The business support landscape changes regularly and it is not easy to keep track of the latest help or funding available. Many businesses are confused about how to access the support that they need to grow and they believe business support is fragmented and inconsistent in quality.
To simplify access to business support there are 38 Growth Hubs across England (one in each Local Enterprise Partnership area) each designed to meet the specific needs of their local economies. Because Growth Hubs are locally owned and led by Local Enterprise Partnerships, businesses can be confident that when they speak to a Growth Hub business adviser, or one of their delivery partners, they are speaking to someone who truly understands the environment in which that business is operating.
The Growth Hub for Leicester and Leicestershire is called the Business Gateway.
It is a free/fully-funded and impartial resource that exists to provide expert support and advice, diagnostic services, networking opportunities and signposting for all businesses, but with a particular focus on those looking to grow and/or increase their productivity.
By being part of a national network, the Growth Hub is able to draw on expertise, best practice and connections from across the Growth Hub Network, central Government, national and local partners.
Information and help is available across a wide range of topics including:
- Business start-up training and mentoring
- Business growth and expansion plans, recruitment and investing
- Access to finance, including local and national grants and loans programmes
- Premises and search for new commercial property
