Funding Available for SME’s from Projects awarded ERDF

A short summary of the funding available is as follows:

The Business Gateway Growth Hub – can help find the right advice and support for your business. The growth hub is a single place to access all forms of business support across Leicester and Leicestershire.

The growth hub offers free and impartial 1:1 advice, free to attend presentations and workshops, specialist support and expertise for high growth, signposting and referrals to other support providers and Business Growth Grants for capital projects from £2,000 to £25,ooo to cover 35% of project costs.
PA2 (LLEP, Leicester City Council, Leicestershire County Council, East Midlands Chamber)

Manufacturing Growth Programme – is designed to stimulate the growth of aspiring manufacturing businesses, in any sector, helping identify opportunities for accelerateed growth, improvement and team development.  Average grants available are £1,650 towards the cost of support costing up to £5,000.
PA2 (Economic Growth Solutions – Oxford Innovation)

Growing Enterprise – a project to support new businesses and smaller growing businesses with advice and support and grant funding of up to £2,500 which covers 25% of eligible costs for equipment and consultancy.
PA 3 (NBV Solutions Limited)

Exploring Enterprise – a 2 day explore enterprise workshop is available to support young people aged 18-30 who have an interest in finding out more about self-employment. Young people can receive 1:1 support, workshops and 2 years of mentoring to turn ideas into reality.  Grants up to £150 are available for market testing and start up loans up to £5,000.
PA2 (Princes’s Trust)

Midlands Engine Investment Fund- Early stage debt funding with a mixture of loans, equity and mezzanine funding for larger investments across the whole East and West Midlands. Business loans start from £25,000.
PA 3 (British Business Bank)

Leicester Innovation Accelerator and Hub- Practical R&D and innovation support to SMEs to design, develop, test and launch innovative products and services in partnership with the University of Leicester. Innovation vouchers worth £4000 are available towards the costs of consultancy, analytical services ans sustainability audits.   Up to £20,000 is available to support in company industrial R&D placements over one year.

Space Park Leicester STAR Accelerator –  High-tech supportto design, develop, prototype and launch innovative produces and components utilisig space engineering and manufacturing R&D strengths of the University of Leicester.

SoLSTICE – Innovation support to businesses already in, or transitioning into the Life Sciences sector including advisory support, signposting and grant funding as well as opportunities to attend special interest groups to network with other businesses, health agencies and academics in the sector. Innovation support grants upto £20,000 towards consultancy and engaging new specialist staff
PA 1 (MediLink East Midlands)

SING –  practical and grant assistance to make it easier for SMEs to accelerate development of new products, processes and services and to encourage them to work with UK research institutions. Grant funding for up to 40% towards the cost of development projects  and 2 days research in to technologies and market potential.
PA1 (Loughborough University i-Net)

SPRING – This project assists SMEs to increase their capacity and capbility by supporting business growth and productivity improvement measures.  The project offers information, diagnostic and brokerage review, grant funding to exhibit at trade fairs, up to 2 days support for market technology growth assessment and grants of up to 44% towards external costs of investments.
PA1 (Loughborough University i-Net)

Green BELLE- SMEs can access grant funding to install low energy carbon and energy efficiency measures in their premises such as heating, lightling, insulation, renewable energy and more. Companies investing in energy saving equipment and processes are offered a diagnostic service and grants from £1,000 up to £7,000 cover up to 50% of costs for the project.
PA 4 (Leicester Energy Agency)

Leicester Low Carbon Transport Accelerator – Grants towards the cost of replacing fossil fuelled vehicles with electric vehicles and hybrids for business use.  Grants up to 40% of the price difference up to £15,000.  The amount of grant depends on the Co2 saving achieved.
PA4 (Leicester City Council)

Digital Growth Programme- A project to help companies improve performance through the use of technolocy.  Grants up to £25,000 can cover up to 35% of costs to invest in new ICT equipment, web development and software. Seminars and action planning workshops are available to learn about a whole range of e-commerce and e- marketing techniques and to plan for future e-commerce developments.
PA 2 (East Midlands Chamber)

Internationalising SMEs – Advice and grant support available to support companies wishing to export.  Grants are available from £1,000 to £10,000 towards 50% of the total cost to attend trade shows, translation costs, marketing and consultancy.
