Leicester Employment Hub
The Leicester Employment Hub is a three year, £3.9 million business support project (ESF open call programme) for small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Leicester and Leicestershire area, run by Leicester City Council. This new impartial service helps local employers with their recruitment and training needs. The Hub will work with local businesses as a “critical friend” to support them to access the skills and talent that are vital for future growth.
During the life of the programme, The Leicester Employment Hub (LEH) will engage with over 1000 businesses and will actively support 220 businesses, in relation to the development of an employment and skills plan for their business. The Hub has partnered with training providers, further education colleges, universities and local authorities with the aim of increasing the knowledge of the Employment and Skills provision and becoming a one stop shop for businesses in Leicestershire. The aim of the Employment Hub is to make education and training provision more responsive to the needs of the local economy by meeting employers’ skills needs and equipping individuals with the skills they require for the world of work. The LEH can also help job seekers to secure employment, or an apprenticeship, traineeship or work placement, by helping jobseekers to improve their skills and confidence, and in sourcing work experience, internships and volunteering opportunities.
