The Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) is delighted to host a special food and drink showcasing event at the House of Commons on Wednesday 12th October.
The Global Flavours of Leicestershire event is about celebrating innovation, heritage and diversity of Leicestershire’s food and drink sector.
A number of local businesses from SMEs to larger companies will showcase products that demonstrate the seamless cultural infusion, product mainstreaming and pioneering innovations happening in Leicestershire.
As well as sampling local produce, Ministers and MPs will get to see the strength and understand there is so much more that goes on in this sector such as:
- A wide-ranging diversity of food manufacturing; seamless cultural infusion and ethnic product mainstreaming;
- A vast range of exporters of locally-manufactured products and extensive food industry supply chain
- Advanced technologies, scientific innovation and constant research and product development/adaptation to meet consumer needs
- Heritage and a long-standing history of food & drink manufacturing
Following the showcase, and continuing the F&D theme there will be a round table discussion with Leicester and Leicestershire MPs.
Global Flavours of Leicestershire is sponsored by two of Leicestershire’s MPs, Alberto Costa (MP for South Leicestershire) and Andrew Bridgen, (MP for North West Leicestershire) and is taking place in the Jublilee Room, House of Commons, 11.30am-2.00pm.
