Recovering through innovation webinar

Location

Online Webinar

Successful companies and organisations are continually innovating and adapting to stay ahead of the competition, to stand out from the crowd and grow.

In these uncertain times, the need to innovate and adapt to the ‘new normal’ has become business critical for survival and profitability. This can mean developing and launching new, or adapting existing products and services, finding new customers and markets, creating new routes for sales such as online, and changing or optimising business operations and processes.

July’s LBV virtual event is focusing on innovation. The event showcases two local businesses and how they have innovated to adapt and respond to the current crisis.

Presentations will also include how the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership Limited (LLEP) in collaboration with key stakeholders to develop new robust innovation enabling initiatives, infrastructure and environments to support local businesses in ‘recovering through innovation’.

This latest free webinar provides a great opportunity for LBV members and local businesses to learn more about what’s being done on a local level to address this unique challenge, and how businesses can engage with and inform the planned innovation developments.

Attendees will also hear how their businesses can join the planned Innovation Club and Innovation Champions.

The webinar will be hosted by LBV board directors, Anjuu Trevedi and Graham Watts. The agenda includes speakers from the LLEP, Innovate UK and other local business organisations as below:

• ‘Introduction to LLEP Ideas Board’ with Sue Tilley, LLEP Economic Strategy Manager for Business
Covering the membership and focus of the new Ideas Board and how it will support economic growth

• ‘Local Innovation ambitions’ with Julian Bowrey, Innovate UK Regional Manager
Discussing business needs-led ambition and initiatives currently planned

• An ‘Introduction to Flokk.Online’ with Prof Rachel Granger, Professor Urban Economies at De Montfort University
A free platform through which local companies can promote their businesses and network

• ‘Local Innovation Case Studies’ with Sandra Wiggins from DPI UK and Sajjad Khan from Aristec Ltd
Giving their perspectives on how they have and are adapting their business through innovation to cope with Covid-19 and beyond.
