1The European Regional Development fund (ERDF) aims to promote economic, social and territorial cohesion across the EU. It is specifically focused on supporting

economic growth and job creation whilst contributing to “smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in England”.

Our ERDF allocation is €64.6 million which is split across 4 priority areas:

  • PRIORITY   AXIS   1  Promoting Research and Innovation
    • Including increasing investment in research and innovation infrastructure that catalyses collaboration with the research community; promoting business investment in R&I
  • PRIORITY AXIS  2  Enhancing access to, and use and quality of, ICT
    • Including extending broadband deployment and the roll-out of high-speed networks and supporting the adoption of emerging technologies; enhancing demand for ICT; developing ICT products and services
  • PRIORITY AXIS  3 Enhancing the Competitiveness of SME’s
    • Promoting entrepreneurship; supporting the creation and the extension of advanced capacities for products, services and development
  • PRIORITY AXIS  4 Promoting the transition to a Low carbon economy
    • Promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy use in enterprises; supporting energy efficiency, smart energy management and renewable energy use in public infrastructure; promoting low carbon strategies for all types of territories
