Open Doors (Skills Metro) skills support for the workforce

Interserve Learning & Employment help both public and private sector clients, aiming to meet their needs by combining learning with employability.

Interserve Learning & Employment have secured the LLEP area ESF funding for a new exciting project called Open Doors (Skills Metro) which is a new free service available to businesses across Leicestershire to help employees to upskill and hence broaden their contribution to the workforce. The new Open Doors programme provides businesses with free advice and training for employees to help them progress their careers.

The Open Doors training covers a host of different roles and sectors from care to construction. Industry specific training is also available through the service and all training is tailored to meet the needs of the employer and their employees. Popular courses include, but are not limited to, IT, customer service, management and social media marketing.

To date, the ESF-funded project has engaged with over 1300 SME employers throughout Leicestershire, contacted via a specialised call centre team and an Interserve Learning & Employment plan to target further businesses through local marketing and advertising.

Open Doors is available until March 2018. The service is available to all businesses in the Leicestershire region with less than 250 employees.

If a local business fits the criteria and would like to find out how their team could benefit, they should contact Interserve’s advisers on 0333 444 8801 or email skills.metro@interserve.com
