Project Officer (LLEP)

Location: City Hall, 115 Charles Street, Leicester

1 Full Time, Fixed Term Post until March 2020 (maternity cover)


This is an exciting time to be joining the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP). LEPs were recognised with the recent national Industrial Strategy and with the publication of ‘Strengthened Local Enterprise Partnerships’ LEPs are ideally placed to supercharge economic growth and drive forward investment in local businesses. LEPs also have a significant role to play in facilitating local economic growth and building on our strong economic performance

The purpose of the role will be to support the effective programme management of Leicester and Leicestershire investment programmes including: European Structural Funds Programme, Local Growth Fund, Business Rates Pool, Growing Places Fund as well as other funding streams as appropriate.

The role will support the Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership to develop strategic plans; and maintain the systems and processes for delivering an efficient, accountable and transparent programme of activity. It will involve partnership working, programme and contract management, finance activities including processing claims; supporting procurement activity, servicing internal and external meetings and groups. The post holder will be expected to maintain supporting data bases; assisting policy development, and prepares formal reports, briefings, updates and presentations.

LEPs are positioned as a key part of developing and delivering local strategy for economic growth across Leicester and Leicestershire. We are looking for creative, well organised and committed project officers to work as part of a vibrant team to help drive this agenda forward.

These posts are part-funded through the European Structural Funds Programme (2014-20)

Requirements of the Post:

  • Able to compile and present complex management reports.
  • Able to monitor budgets, spreadsheets and present complex numerical data.
  • Able to recognise and resolve conflicting priorities and/or interdependencies.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
